When to go to Kenya: climate, temperatures and seasons

Kenya is located in the equatorial belt of the African continent and its climate, influenced by monsoons from the Indian Ocean, is characterized by almost constant temperatures throughout the year. The climate is characterized by two rainy seasons, the big rains in the months from April to June and the small rains in November, and by two dry seasons, a longer one with milder temperatures from July to October and a shorter one with temperatures high from mid-December to March. The rains usually occur in the form of showers or thunderstorms, often in the evening, which often leave room for the sun even during rainy periods. The months from July to October are the best time to witness the spectacle of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, which enter Kenya from the Serengeti to eat fresh grass.

What to pack for a safari?

Comfortable clothing: short and long cotton trousers, light T-shirts or shirts, sweatshirt or jacket for the evening and when visiting the northern parks. Neutral colors preferred. The bright colors disturb the animals. It is usually hot, but in the early morning or evening the temperatures are lower and breezy. If you visit the parks of the north it is advisable to bring some heavier clothes for the evening and early morning, being at an altitude above 1000 meters the climate is cooler. Comfortable shoes. Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and cocoa butter. Mosquito repellent. Power adapters for English type sockets to charge the camera. Binoculars, camera and some spare memory cards. Photo safaris

If you like to "capture" animals with the lens of the camera then you absolutely must go on a photographic safari (or game drive) and there is no better place than Africa with its famous Big Five. First of all it is a type of activity that combines the passion for photography with that for travel and is focused on the search for the most fascinating views where it is possible to see and photograph animals in the wild, such as lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffaloes. The main feature of the photographic safari is that it is organized by "EXPERT GUIDE" who accompanies photographers to the most beautiful panoramic points, those with the most favorable light for quality shots and obviously in the sighting areas. A photographic safari in Africa means not only living a journey intensely, but also preserving the memory of extraordinary moments.

How much a safari cost?

The often recurring question is: "HOW MUCH A SAFARI COST?" There is no "STANDARD" answer, because safaris "ARE NOT ALL THE SAME", even if we are talking about the same safari, both in terms of itinerary and duration. A safari in Africa is the dream of many travelers. Seeing the famous "Big Five" (buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos), the herds of migrating animals, the lions that hunt and a myriad of other animals in their natural habitat is a unique experience. If you add to this the fiery sunsets and starry skies of Africa, the savannah and deserts, you can easily imagine why a safari in Africa can become the journey of a lifetime. A safari in Africa is not, however, a journey like any other; it is an experience dedicated to adventure where you can rediscover contact with nature in all its primordial essence.
