Balloon Safari

Nothing is more spectacular than launching into the sunrise and floating effortlessly in a hot air balloon over the Masai Mara reserve. Each sunrise is a completely new adventure, unlike any other. Nurali Safaris Kenya organizes balloon flights for you in the famous Masai National Reserve. The Mara is the northernmost part of the spectacular Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, home to the "Great Wildebeest Migration" and dozens of other wild animals, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, hippos and crocodiles.

PROGRAM

Departure from the camp or lodge between 4:00 am and 5:30 am. We will accompany you to the launch point, to arrive by 6:00 am. Depending on the weather conditions, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea as you watch the hot air balloons prepare for take off. The pilot will provide a safety briefing and explain what you can expect during the flight. There are basic restrooms available on the launch site. NB: a launch site has toilets.

The crew of the balloon will assist you as you climb into the basket of the balloon for take-off just before sunrise, at approximately 6:30 am. As you get up, the plains of the Masai Mara open up before your eyes to feast on the golden dawn, enchanting scenery, games of the plains below while the wind gently blows the basket deeper into the reserve. The pilot will assist you by pointing out the fauna below with many photo opportunities opening up before your eyes. Fly silently with 360 degrees of spectacular savannah lasting about an hour, depending on wind conditions.


 

Upon landing between 7:15 am and 7:30 am, observe the complete deflation of the balloon before the short transfer for your substantial morning meal.

Breakfast is set up in the picturesque plains of the Mara savannah, typically in the shade of a single balanite tree. Sit down for a full Kenyan-style bush breakfast, complete with made-to-order eggs, sausage, fresh juice, fruit, cereal, and of course, sparkling wine.

During breakfast, you can also review the photos your pilot took during the flight and decide if you'd like to purchase them. The finale is a balloon flight certificate signed by your pilot as a memory.

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely game drive to return to your camp or lodge to arrive around 10:30 am already reliving the memories of the morning flight.
