How much a safari cost

How much a safari cost?

The often recurring question is: "HOW MUCH A SAFARI COST?" There is no answer STANDARD, because the safaris THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME, even if we are talking about the same safari, both in terms of itinerary and duration.

A safari in Africa is the dream of many travelers. Seeing the famous "big five" (buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos), the herds of migrating animals, the lions that hunt and a myriad of other animals in their natural habitat is a unique experience.

If you add to this the fiery sunsets and starry skies of Africa, the savannah and deserts, you can easily imagine why a safari in Africa can become the journey of a lifetime. A safari in Africa is not, however, a journey like any other; it is an experience dedicated to adventure where you can rediscover contact with nature in all its primordial essence.

But then: "How much a safari cost"?

The cost of the safari is determined by several factors:

VEHICLE AND SAFETY:

  • The choice of vehicle: Jeep Land Cruiser 4X4 or Minivan (minibus). Jeep Land Cruiser or Land Rover is synonymous with safari. They are higher, spacious, but above all safer in hostile terrain, because we must not forget that we are in the savannah. The Minivan or minibus, from the name it is clear that it is not comparable to the standard off-road safari vehicles.
  • The maintenance of the minibus is decidedly less expensive than the Jeep and this is one of the reasons why we can associate it with that range of customers of the tourist villages who intend the SAFARI like an excursion.
  • Being protected by insurance is a must, but a good operator will always offer you to take out coverage for the emergency medical evacuation service “Flying Doctor”

LODGES AND TENTED CAMPS:

  • Type of lodges or tented camps that you choose:
  • Structures of great tourist accommodation, which certainly cost less, and aimed at more mass tourism. However, it is located in beautiful locations, but less intimate considering the many rooms.
  • Structures with few tents with low environmental impact for a more sustainable tourism. They are usually located in corners of boundless nature, far from traditional circuits. Luxury is given by small businesses and exclusive places. Paradoxically, eco-sustainable luxury costs more.

FEES PARKS:

  • Safaris require the payment of a ticket which has a duration of 24 hours. The price varies according to the type of Park, Reserve or Conservancy that you choose.

GUIDES:

  • On safari with Certified Professional Guides. A good trained guide who has studied will be able to make you discover things you did not imagine, telling you his knowledge not only about animals, but that we are talking about history, geology, etc.

ITINERARIES AND SEASONALITY:

  • Duration in terms of days of the itinerary that is decided. For example, the same itinerary that includes 3 days including transfers from park to park, if it is done in 5 days you have the opportunity to visit more remote corners, taking advantage of the cooler hours of the morning when the movement of animals is greater.
  • Period of the season you choose. High or low season, holidays.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE:

  • Number of people for the vehicle you choose, Jeep or minivan. (Max 6). It is normal that if the same safari is done on a private basis with 2 people it will cost more.

Surely the safari is not among the cheapest trips that can be done. A safari in Africa is not, however, a journey like any other; it is an experience where you can rediscover contact with nature in all its primordial essence.
