Photo Safaris

Photo Safaris

If you like to "capture" animals with the lens of the camera then you absolutely must go on a photographic safari (or game drive) and there is no better place than Africa with its famous Big Five.
First of all it is a type of activity that combines the passion for photography with that for travel and is focused on the search for the most fascinating views where it is possible to see and photograph animals in the wild, such as lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and buffaloes.
The main feature of the photographic safari is that it is organized by "EXPERT GUIDE" who accompanies photographers to the most beautiful panoramic points, those with the most favorable light for quality shots and obviously in the sighting areas. A photographic safari in Africa means not only living a journey intensely, but also preserving the memory of extraordinary moments.

Photographic trip to Africa

A photographic journey in Africa allows you to stop and observe details and unmissable moments, savoring and experiencing the journey itself in an authentic way.

A "photographic safari" means traveling, exploring, it means adventure. Traveling and photographing means traveling an itinerary living it to the full, observing what surrounds us, listening to the sounds and breathing in every scent, feeling emotions and enjoying every single moment. Living with constant euphoria every single moment that will remain indelible within us, pausing to capture images, immersed in the fascinating world of photography.

ADVICE ON PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT

Also recommended by many photography enthusiasts, it is the 200-400mm f / 4 zoom, while a less expensive alternative among the fixed lenses could be a 300mm f / 2.8 with 1.4x focal length. These are all photographic optics ideal for portrait photography and action photos, ensuring the ability to photograph in low light conditions and making a beautiful blur effect ensuring the best quality. An excellent telephoto lens is the 400mm f / 2.8 which in most situations is an excellent focal length.

Some tips for the less experienced

Any DSLR camera made in recent years is capable of taking excellent photos of wild animals, and you don't need to buy the most expensive camera on the market to take beautiful photographs. To take beautiful photos on a safari you need to be able to capture the moment and therefore in a nutshell what you need is the speed of focusing and shooting.

The evolution of digital and the market offer really offers many solutions, allowing even the less experienced to achieve semi-professional results.

Surely in photography to obtain excellent results there are rules to follow, and a fundamental rule is that of 2/3. The rule of thirds is a compositional rule. Imagine a painting divided by two horizontal and two vertical lines, the result is 9 perfectly equal squares.

The one in the center is the fulcrum and each corner is made up of a strong point. In total, therefore, we have 4 strengths in which to enter a subject of the scene.

Imagine yourself in a boundless savannah, red earth and brushstrokes of blue sky. It will be enough to ideally place the horizon on the second line of the grid to give the right emphasis to the sky. On the contrary, if you want to maximize the attention on the earth, just raise the horizon to the first line of the grid.

The right light makes a normal photo an exceptional photo, the best moments to photograph during the safari are early morning and late afternoon, do not miss these moments. A lot of photos are taken during the safari, so remember to stock up on memory cards.

Safaris, which since the 1980s have only been photographic, represent one of the great tourist attractions.

Traveling through the bumpy tracks of the parks, perhaps standing under the raised roof of your vehicle, is a devastating emotion. You are constantly looking for a shadow, a profile, a movement that can make you see the expected prey.

just great emotions
